Is Kijiji Advertising Right for Your Business | Wired Flare

In many areas Kijiji has become a widespread platform for buying and selling, especially of used products. In some locations it has also come to be used more and more for advertising both business to consumer and business to business services.

Should you advertise your business on Kijiji?

Before answering that question, let?s take one step back and ask the broader question: Is it valuable to advertise using online ads?

The answer to that is undeniably yes, for a number of reasons. Online ads are often free or low cost, and the ad copy can be easy to write. Plus, when keyword phrases are used appropriately, the ads will often rank on the first page of Google.

However, there are many online ad sources to choose from, and it is important to choose the platform that is right for what you are promoting.

When posting an online ad, you want to consider the target audience of the ad platform. Is your audience there? How will your audience react if they see your ad there? Will it be a benefit to your business? Or, does posting on that platform devalue your services?

If you are a small, independent service provider with an audience that would turn first to Kijiji before looking elsewhere for your services, then advertising there could be a good option. Childcare providers and housekeeping service providers, for example, are commonly searched for on Kijiji.

However, if Kijiji is not the go-to resource for locating service providers in your industry, then advertising there could be sacrificing some of the brand identity you are working hard to build. There are other platforms that may better suit your needs.

Consider offline news sources and publications that have online ad opportunities. Also consider listing your services in local business directories, such as with your local chamber of commerce, industry specific sites or location-specific sites such as ContractMe.ca.

While online ads can be a great benefit to your business and can help increase exposure, make sure the platform you choose is a reflection of your brand and communicates effectively and positively with your audience.
