CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV)- One of the hardest things about traveling to a new city is knowing where to go, where to say, where to eat and the safest parts of town.
Thousands of people are slated to come to the Democratic National Convention ? and Charlotte residents are stepping up to make sure their questions are answered.
The idea?
People coming to the DNC can tweet their questions about Charlotte and their responses will come from people who live here. So when "our visitors ask, @CLTanswers."
The idea is the brain-child of Brian Francis, Assistant to the County Manager. He also came up with the idea to have Charlotteans write to Chiquita CEO Fernando Aguirre to say why we were #bananas4CLT.
"Passion for our city was obvious," Francis said about the movement. "And the skyline indicates your advocacy was well received. It is time to put your passion and knowledge of Charlotte to use once again."
He says there is not a question about Charlotte that Twitter can't answer.
"We just need to connect those with the questions to those with the answers," he said. "We will use the hashtag #CLTFAQ to make the connection."
If you want to help, Francis says you can follow @CLTAnswers on Twitter so they know that you are committed to help. Then follow the hashtag #CLTFAQ and answer the questions.
"This is not a project of the DNC host committee or any other organization. It is our project," he said. "This is an effort of those of us who love Charlotte to make sure our guests have the best experience here that they can."
