GOP regulars behind Romney's victory in Michigan

(AP) ? Mitt Romney drew strength from Republican loyalists and all but the most conservative voters on Tuesday to claim victory in a grueling GOP presidential primary in his native state of Michigan, an exit poll of voters showed.

Rick Santorum was bolstered by the most ardent conservatives and people whose political views are strongly colored by their religious beliefs, the survey showed. But with Michigan viewed as a solid opportunity for the former Pennsylvania senator to weaken Romney's candidacy, Santorum failed to win more than a modest margin among blue-collar voters ? those without college degrees ? despite wooing them with populist, made-in-America fervor and his grandfather's coal miner roots.

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, also cruised to an easy victory in Arizona's GOP presidential contest by winning across nearly all categories of age, income, education and ideology, exit poll results showed there.

In both states, the economy was the dominant issue on voters' minds, as it has been in every state to vote so far. And as he has in every state where voters have been surveyed but South Carolina, Romney triumphed decisively among people who named the economy as their chief concern.

Six in 10 Michigan voters Tuesday were Republicans, with the rest allowed to vote under rules opening the party's primary to others as well. Among those Republicans, Romney prevailed over Santorum, 48 percent to 37 percent.

About 1 in 10 Michigan voters were Democrats and they backed Santorum, a former Pennsylvania senator, by about a 3-1 margin. During the Michigan campaign, Romney accused Santorum of using automated telephone calls to attract Democrats to his candidacy, which Santorum answered by saying Romney had sought independent support in earlier state contests.

The two men ran about neck-and-neck among independents.

In another indication of Romney's hold on committed Republicans, more than 6 in 10 Michigan voters said they would back the GOP nominee no matter what ? and Romney bested Santorum among this group, 50 percent to 36 percent.

Santorum won by 14 percentage points among Michigan voters who consider themselves very conservative and by 18 percentage points with strong tea party supporters.

He also triumphed easily among born again or evangelical Christians, reflecting his own strongly held religious beliefs, which he repeatedly emphasized on the campaign trail.

Nearly 6 in 10 Michigan voters said it was important that they share religious beliefs with their candidate, and this group backed Santorum over Romney by 15 percentage points. Around a quarter said a religious match with their candidate was very important, and they supported Santorum by 3-1.

When it came to working-class voters ? as measured by those without college degrees ? the two men ran about evenly, a clear disappointment for Santorum.

Though Romney has been accused of stirring little passion among his supporters, he led Santorum by 14 percentage points among voters who said their vote was motivated by strong backing for their candidate. Around 1 in 6 voters said their support was motivated by a dislike for the other candidates, and this group picked Santorum by more than 2-1.

More than 4 in 10 voters in Michigan said they supported the federal bailout of the auto industry, according to the exit poll. They gave Romney a slight edge, while the half who said they opposed the federal aid were split evenly between Romney and Santorum.

Both men had both said they oppose the 2008 and 2009 influx of government dollars that kept General Motors and Chrysler afloat as they were foundering. The bailout became a top issue in the final days of the Michigan campaign, at a time when the auto industry ? the backbone of the state's economy ? has revived.

Underscoring Romney's broad appeal in Arizona, he and Santorum essentially split the 4 in 10 voters there who were born again or evangelical Christians.

Given four choices about what they most wanted in a presidential candidate, the largest share in both states said it was most important that a candidate be able to defeat President Barack Obama in November. A majority of voters who felt that way in each state backed Romney on Tuesday.

The surveys of voters in Michigan and Arizona's GOP presidential primaries were conducted for AP and the television networks by Edison Research. This includes preliminary results among 2,200 voters interviewed Tuesday as they left their polling places at 30 randomly selected sites in Michigan, and among 2,535 Arizona voters as they left 30 polling places. Included were 412 who voted early or absentee in Michigan and 601 in Arizona, who were interviewed by landline or cellular telephone from Feb. 20-26.

The Michigan survey has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points, while the Arizona exit poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Rousimar Palhares celebrates 32nd birthday with his first cake ever

UFC middleweight Rousimar Palhares is known for his crippling heel hooks and having extremely humble beginnings. As in, once lived in a tent city under a bridge in Brazil kind of humble beginnings. He didn't have the kind of upbringing that would allow for lavish birthday celebrations.

His teammates at Brazilian Top Team changed that last week when they surprised "Toquinho" with a cake.

That was really a big surprise for me. I became a child again because this was the first time in my whole life I celebrated my birthday with a cake. Everybody knows my family always had a very humble life. I thank my BTT partners to have given me this happiness. I hope this is going to be a year of much work and that God can continue giving me the opportunities to represent Brazil and show my talent inside the Octagon.

He turned 32, and this was the first time he ever celebrated his birthday with a cake. He doesn't know the joy of red velvet or angel food or German chocolate or ice cream cake or cupcakes or yellow cake with chocolate frosting. This cake could set up a scenario where the muscle-bound Palhares takes a nosedive into the seedy underbelly of too much cake. When visiting New York for next week's UFC on Fox 3 press conference, he could visit Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken, N.J., get a taste of Buddy from "Cake Boss" famous cake, and give up heel hooks forever.

Or, he could be so inspired by his teammates' kindness that he runs a giveaway of autographed shirts on his website.

Thanks, Cage Potato.

Action Saints Bring Church Heroes to Life

Kolbe Film School

? Kolbe Film School

One day, Stephen Baker let his young son, Ben, play with a hard-plastic statuette of St. Michael the Archangel.

?He was playing with it like crazy, running out in the back yard,? recalled Baker. ?Sooner or later, he came back in crying.?

Marthie Baker, a nurse, thought a dog might have bitten her son, judging from the puncture wound in his hand. But it was the spear of the St. Michael statuette that had done the damage; the figure sustained an injury too ? a broken wing from the tumble.

The Bakers have other statues around the house, along with four kids, and other accidents have occurred: St. Joseph?s head has been detached a couple of times, and the Baby Jesus is missing an arm.

?We?re sitting here telling our kids, ?No, don?t touch,? and that?s not a message that we want to tell our kids with the saints,? said Stephen Baker.

So the parents were inspired to create Action Saints (ActionSaints.com), which offers a safe-to-play-with figure of St. Michael for ages 4 and up, complete with sword and a prayer card.

Action Saints is an endeavor of the Kolbe Film School (KolbeFilmSchool.com). Created by the Bakers, it is a non-for-profit, online tutorial program where students can learn 3-D animation production, character animation, and work to design gaming environments. One of the school?s instructors is Thom Falter, who spent time as a character animator with Veggie Tales, working on the videos and the feature-length movie Jonah.

Designing an action figure wasn?t a stretch for Stephen Baker, a licensed architect in the state of Colorado, where the family lives. He has designed or envisioned more than 30 churches and cathedrals in the United States. Back in 1993, while he was in college, Baker was struck by the words of Blessed John Paul II during his trip to Denver. The late Holy Father specifically mentioned the media as an area in which Catholics should work.

?The way he said it ? ?including the media? ? kind of haunts me,? said Baker.

So Baker taught himself animation software and eventually produced a cartoon called The Kings of Christmas that aired on PBS. He became proficient enough in his knowledge of 3-D animation software that he has been an instructor at the university level for the last eight years at area colleges.

The Kolbe Film School has a straightforward mission: ?Train the next generation of artists who seek to create media that inspires a culture of life.?

Getting the first saint ready for a wide market was a multi-step process. First, St. Michael was designed in a 3-D modeling program called ZBrush, which allows users to mold a model like clay, but on a computer screen.

Then Baker had to find a firm to make the model; he eventually found one in China, as U.S. prices were high. The back-and-forth process between Baker?s vision and the Chinese artists went from pictures of the computer model to a wax sculpture to a plaster mold and plastic prototype to a mold carved in stainless steel after final revisions. So far, a few thousand units have been ordered.

The cardboard backing with the figure?s packaging features a history of the saint and the famous St. Michael prayer; the enclosed trading card also has the prayer.

The partnership has led to some evangelization opportunities. The prototype of St. Maximilian Kolbe includes a miraculous medal. One of the Chinese workers asked Baker about the ?goddess? on the medal and what size it should be.

?Well no, she?s the Mother of God,? Baker told the worker.

Marthie?s brother, Jim Moran, has moved 56 units of the St. Michael figure already. With a display model, he has informally pitched the action figure at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Kansas City, Kan. He has received positive feedback, with some families buying a number of the figures that start at $12, but are discounted for purchases of two units or more.

?People were just thrilled to have something like that,? said Moran, a father of eight.

Moran said parents have been asking for other saints. If it were up to him, it would probably be St. Joan of Arc.

The patron saint of France is on the short list for additions to the ?Action Saints? line, along with St. Augustine. Sts. Maximilian Kolbe and Th?r?se are featured on the website as ?coming soon.?

But it takes capital to make the stainless-steel molds, and the Bakers are hoping St. Michael will sell well.

Want to see your favorite saint in action form? The Bakers said interested patrons could sponsor a saint, which would be a project for the Kolbe Film School. Interested parties can contact them via the website.

Said Marthie, ?I hope it (sales) will grow, and that way we can make many more ?Action Saints,? because there?s such a host of great saints.?

Justin Bell writes from Boston.

Online Businesses 300x300 Online Businesses Need to Learn How ..By starting in the world of Online Business first happened was that I went with everything at my inexperience, I wanted to have additional income to see if they could make a profit online, but for this I needed to learn to do things for yourself and learn step by step details of how we can mount any Business by the Network
Scratch knowledge of all parties and people who taught me too, so began my first steps in managing my own WordPress blog, a simple system that allows us to polish every rookie Networker knowledge. We got to know which are the Plugins and Widget and functions that give the appearance of our domain. Modify them at will and needs giving valuable information to visitors to our articles.

But things were not there then install a WordPress blog and very simple, but learning how to upload with FTP (Filezilla) that is another story, select the files you have to install on our hosting service and are on our PC, while we see where we need to upload files. All this in order all that remains is to open our FTP and make the data and connect our server. Then it is just drag files from your desktop to the new file we have ready in hosting, after completion of the function must be seen as our web page.

Problems exist all the time in the operation of the domain, but they are details that are resolved by contacting those tutors who always help us solve the problems we face, new councils come and go, remember that all this knowledge always serves Networker our work. There are many who cluck and say working and doing business over the network, but it seems like the mother who set up, because when asked certain questions is completely unknown subject.

Teaching Your Kids About the Environment

Let?s face it, your kids are just that ? kids. They?re stubborn, they rarely listen, they have too much energy to ever possibly keep up with and they still have so much to learn.

But getting your kids to sit down and listen to you as you teach them about the environment might prove to be a bit of a challenge. Here are some tips to make learning about the topic fun so they?ll remember it and want to participate in making a change.

teach a child about the environment

Children are our future and it's up to us to help them to learn about the environment and ways that can they protect it and nurture it for generations to come

Earth Day Activities

Make Earth Day the next national holiday in your family. Your children?s teachers will likely do a bit of teaching on the holiday, but it?s your job to really go all out with it. Decorate the house as you would for any other holiday ? but use things like vines, leaves and plants to emphasize that the day is all about learning about and appreciating the environment.

Do you ever make green milk to have with breakfast on St. Patrick?s Day? If you?ve never made it, you just simply mix a couple of drops of green food coloring into your kids? milk for a fun and exciting ?new? treat (it?s just milk). Do the same on Earth Day!

Buy coloring books and craft supplies for tons of Earth Day related activities at home when your kids get back from school. Take advantage of the day that?s already dedicated to the environment by going over the top with fun, environmentally-friendly ideas that will totally make your kids love our earth!

Go on Nature Hikes

Maybe your kids don?t particularly enjoy hiking, so try taking them on a short walk through the woods. It?ll be good to get them up and out of the house and away from the television and video games, and it?ll give you a great opportunity to teach them about the environment they live in.

Find a wooded area nearby your house that has some trails (most parks will be a good starting point). Do some research on plants and animals that are native to your area that you think you might be able to spot on your walk, and make up a checklist to give each of your kids. Make it a contest on your walk ? whoever can spot and check off the most plants and animals wins a prize.

If your child sees ones of the plants or animals on their list, use that as an opportunity to teach them a little bit about it (you have to do your homework, too!). If you really feel like going all out, teach them little tips and tricks about hiking and camping ? you could even go as far as teaching them about footprints in the dirt and building campfires (you?re not a BoyScout leader, though, so don?t get too in-depth!).

Bring a snack along with you and remind your kids how important it is to hold on to their wrappers until they find a proper trash can. This might be the most important lesson they learn all day!

Decorate Shopping Bags

Take that pile of reusable shopping bags you likely have in your house from going green and designate a couple of them to your kids.

Give each child some markers (permanent would be preferable if they?re old enough), paints or better yet, puff paints, gather up some stickers and pieces of fabric that can be glued on, and get to work creating personalized reusable bags with your kids! Let their imaginations run wild ? they can decorate their bags however they want!

Use these bags in place of paper bags for their lunches, or take them shopping with you to the grocery store and let them help you shop, carrying items they pick up in their reusable bags.

Take this opportunity to teach your kids about why it is you have those reusable bags in the first place, why plastic bags can be harmful to the environment, and give them a mini lesson on the importance of recycling. They?ll be thrilled to use their new bags and you?ll be happy to know that you won?t have to waste the brown paper bags anymore!

Start a Garden

Gardening can be a great idea for a number of different reasons. First, you?ll always have access to the most fresh products out there, but you can also consider selling your produce at a local farmers market and making some money, and you can even use a home garden as an opportunity to teach your kids about sustainability.

Start your kids off with something small, like a couple of herbs in the windowsill. Teach them the importance of watering their new crops and taking good care of them, and teach them how they can use the herbs for food (you don?t have to give them cooking lessons, just explain how each one can be used).

When they?re ready, move them on to something slightly larger, like a small lettuce patch or growing baby carrots. If they can handle taking care of those, designate an area in your garden to them, and let them choose what they want to grow and make sure they understand that their area is their responsibility 100%.

Use the garden as a chance to teach your kids about the process of how plants grow ? how they need sunlight and water to thrive and how you can keep growing certain ones over and over again and how others need to be replanted once you?ve pulled them and eaten them.

Teach Them to Conserve Water

Teaching your children about saving water early-on in their lives can make a life-long change for the protection of your environment and its natural resources. Start by having your kids turn off the faucet when they?re brushing their teeth.

Once they get into a habit of turning the water off while they brush, explain to them why you want them to do this. By simply changing this habit, each person can save up to 5 liters of water per minute ? that?s the equivalent of about 14 12-ounce bottles of water! It?s also enough to provide water to nearly 500,000 homes.

Recycle

Explain to your children that everything you throw away needs to be separated into trash and recyclables. Teach them the importance of recycling and how things that you throw away can be reused in some other way.

Make sure they know what can and cannot be recycled. This will be a process and will take some time, but make it into a game ? kids always love games. Have your kids keep track of how many items they recycle in a day, and whoever recycles the most at the end of the day wins a prize or a snack.

You could even consider crafting projects using recycled materials. Things like empty plastic water bottles and soda bottles, bottle caps, paper products, plastic cutlery and even plastic bags can make for some interesting craft materials. Get creative with it!

Jackie Ryan is a freelance writer for several environmental publications. She is constantly working with young children to teach them how important their environment is. Her secret weapon is Rubbermaid garbage cans ? she uses them to teach kids about what can be thrown in the garbage and what needs to be recycled, and she hopes that people will encourage the same tactic!

Nurses Critical to Fulfilling Patients' End-of-life Wishes - NurseZone

By Debra Wood, RN, contributor

February 24, 2012 - Americans have a tradition of making up their minds and carrying out their desires, except when it comes to the care they receive at the end of life.

?There are issues with resolving patients? desires for end-of-life care and what ends up happening at the time of the death, and there are many factors that contribute to that,? said Jennie Roberts, RN, CCM, MBA, chief nursing officer at Evercare Hospice & Palliative Care?UnitedHealth Group, in Denver.

A recent survey from the California Healthcare Foundation highlights how far apart people?s desires are from reality. Seventy percent of respondents said they would prefer to die at home, but in 2009, only 32 percent of deaths in California occurred at home. Nearly 80 percent of those surveyed said they definitely or probably would like to talk with a doctor about end-of-life care, but only 7 percent have actually had that conversation.

The findings are not a fluke. Kathy Brandt, senior vice president, office of education and engagement at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization (NHPCO) in Alexandria, Va., said the numbers are consistent with other studies.

?Most people do not want to think about their end of life,? Brandt said. ?Death is a hard reality for anyone to face. That?s an ongoing issue health-care practitioners are faced with--how do you have those conversations with people??

The time to think it through is before a crisis.

Advance directives

A large majority of Californians, 82 percent, said in the foundation?s survey that it was important to have end-of-life wishes in writing, yet only 23 percent admitted having done so.

Brandt encourages nurses to start close to home by making sure they and their family and friends have completed advance directives.

?Everyone should have a health care proxy, no matter what age, because you need to have someone there to make decisions and honor your wishes,? said Barbara Maffia, RN, nurse manager of the ICU at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. ?Life is strange, and you can go at the drop of a hat and not be able to make a decision.?

It is never too early for adults to discuss end-of-life care. Brandt said any life change, whether marriage, divorce or childbirth, provides an opportunity for advance care planning and updating of documents.

?People can choose to do everything, nothing or something in between, but at least it?s your choice when you are writing down your wishes, and that?s important,? Brandt said. ?Otherwise, someone will make the decision for you, whether a doctor or a family member.?

Nurses changing outcomes

?There are millions of nurses in the United States, and if everyone took a moment to say, ?Is there any way I can help you with your advance directives,? we would revolutionize the ability of patients to think about how they will think this through with loved ones,? said Terry Fulmer, Ph.D., RN, FAAN, dean of Bouve College of Health Sciences at Northeastern University in Boston. ?Mobilizing the nursing workforce could set the nation on a path to embrace all of the opportunities palliative care can provide.?

Fulmer acknowledged that some nurses may not think discussing advance directives is within their scope of practice, but she maintains that initiating that conversation and helping people create the documentation is within a nurse?s scope of practice and should be as routine as asking about immunizations.

?It is for us to take hold of this and lead,? said Fulmer, explaining that nurses often think someone else will do it, but that?s not likely. And often, the nurse is the best person to ask the question, because the nurse will have the closest relationship with the patient.

NHPCO?s Caring Connections?website?offers materials with suggestions about how to initiate the conversation among family members and forms to document one?s end-of-life desires. The materials are available at no charge for personal use.

Advocating for patients

Frequently, the physician and other members of the care team are so focused on curative care that discussions about end-of-life care are postponed. A recent multisite, U.S. study reported in the Annals of Internal Medicine found that even among Stage 4 lung and colorectal cancer patients, talking about end-of-life options did not take place until late in the course of treatment, a median of 33 days before death, and often occurred with a provider other than the treating oncologist.

?The timing of the discussions and the skill sets around those discussions are not in a lot of clinicians? repertoires,? Roberts said. ?This is not a discussion you have one time. There needs to be repeated discussions, not only with the patient but with the family.?

That conversation should include the consequences associated with each option, and even after the patient voices his or her desires, it?s important to check that the person still feels the same way as time goes on and the disease progresses, Roberts said.

Mary T. Boylston, RN, MSN, Ed.D, AHN-BC, professor of nursing at Eastern University in St. Davids, Penn., added that death is often a taboo subject with physicians, ?because it can mean that they have ?failed? to save the patient. Yet, ego aside, abiding by a person?s final wishes is a tremendous gift.?

Sometimes, patients will open up to nurses, and the nurse must be ready to actively listen to the patient?s desires and preferences, said former hospice nurse Lisa Erbstoesser, RN, president of See Me Communications in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

?Nurses spend more time [with patients] and are often able to have more candid conversations with folks,? Brandt added. ?Patients often express fears and uncertainties to nurses that they might not feel comfortable doing with doctors.?

To properly handle the discussion, Erbstoesser said, nurses also must become knowledgeable about hospice care and palliative care. She called hospice care more patient-centered than most medical models and advised nurses to suggest it to the treating physician when it?s appropriate.

Once the patient gets to hospice, those nurses will regularly talk about end-of-life options and how to accomplish that, said Susan Shayne, BSN, RN-BC, with BAYADA Hospice in Vermont. The admission packet includes a Critical Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment form, a do-not-resuscitate form kept in the home and advance directive forms. The hospice can fax that information to a physician if a patient goes into the hospital.

What goes wrong?

Even when people document their wishes, things can go wrong. Patients may want to die at home, yet they or a loved one will call 911 and seek hospital care when the patient?s condition starts to deteriorate.

?People panic, and emotions sometimes get in the way,? Shayne said.

Boylston called dying at home a gift, adding that ?besides the emotional turmoil of letting go, physical care of a person who is suffering can take a toll on family. Therefore, it is important that families and health care providers meet with one another to determine the plan for the final hours.?

If a patient sees that their care is overwhelming to the family, they will often offer to be moved to another level of care, said Rose M. Rosenberg, RN, MA, vice president of hospice care in Westchester & Putnam in Tarrytown, N.Y.

?There are times that the caregivers just wear out and are unable to handle the day-to-day care that is needed for a patient,? Rosenberg added. ?They call 911 or ask to have the patient transferred to the hospital or a nursing home for inpatient care or a five-day respite stay.?

Once in the hospital, they may end up on a ventilator or receiving other treatments in an intensive care unit that precludes a death at home.

Without a health care proxy, some family members will want everything done and others are in disagreement. Maffia said that when that happens, the case is referred to the ethics committee, which discusses options. Nurses will try to educate and support family members.

?If you don?t discuss treatment options and don?t document them, things may not go the way you want them to,? Shayne said. ?In the medical community, we tend to treat, treat, treat.?

Brochure Marketing Tips: Gaining Good Publicity for Small Businesses

Big or small companies need good publicity. With competition so fierce these days, a business cannot afford to be cut off from the market. It needs to look for ways that will let it get heard from the noise of the market. Sometimes, a small business owner will question the need for promotion considering that they are only running a small business. But when the survival of the business is at stake, promotion will prove to be imperative. You can?t just open a store and wait behind the counter for customers to come in. A good promotional strategy is necessary in order to get the word out and drive people into the business.

Sure, promotional strategies will cost money, but this doesn?t mean that you need to spend millions of money. Remember that you are only a small business. It will be best if you start with simple campaigns.

So, which promotional strategy is worth investing in? A simple and cost-effective answer to that question is the brochure.

Printing brochures is not a new marketing concept. In fact, businesses have long used brochures in promoting their business. This material is basically used to communicate to people whatever products or services the business is involved in. It is designed to provide brief but comprehensive information about the strengths, capabilities, and offers of the company. There are good benefits this material provides to businesses. Among them are the following:

? It enhances relationships between customers and businesses. The more people know about your business the more they will feel comfortable with you. This will create long term relationships that will prove to be beneficial for the business.
? It will increase awareness.

People will see your brand constantly. This will reinforce your brand and help create awareness. People will recognize you more and remember you for a long time.
? It will provide important information to customers without bombarding them with too many details.
? It will represent your company. Even if you are not personally there to introduce your business to people, your brochure can do that for you.

You don?t really have to create expensive custom brochures in order to yield good results. A simple but information-rich brochure will be enough to deliver your message to your target audience. Most printing companies today offer affordable printing services which will help you cut down the cost of your materials. Just be sure to work with a competent printer so you are guaranteed with the quality of your material.

If you have enough budget for a unique design, all the better. That will enable you to create noticeable brochure templates that will leave an imprint on people?s mind. You can consider using embossing, die cutting, or foil stamping to enhance the overall appeal of your materials. This is the perfect time to use your creativity in order to come up with an incredible design. High grade paper is also necessary to guarantee the quality and durability of your brochure. Ask your printer what kind of paper is best for your brochure.

In today?s hypercompetitive business world, aiming for high quality brochures makes business sense. It will allow you to produce good results and yield greater return on your investment. By setting your business apart from the competition you can become more visible to your target audience and in time become memorable to them.

Tribler, the ?Government-Shutdown-Immune? Filesharing Program ...

The federal shutdown of Megaupload and arrest of its owner Kim Dotcom last month has triggered a panic in the filesharing community. Several popular bittorrent communities have abruptly shut down, including Btjunkie, Cheggit, and Fileporn. File-locker service Filesonic disabled file sharing, and Uploaded.to blocked traffic from the U.S. ?Other vulnerable site owners are surely considering similar measures.

It should come as no surprise then that the filesharing program Tribler, whose lead researcher claims?that ?The only way to take it down is to take The Internet down,? is suddenly in the spotlight. In fact, it is so popular right now that the Tribler website has been reduced to just its download page with the message, ?Sorry: limited website due to high popularity.?

Tribler is perhaps the next generation of filesharing. While it uses the bittorrent protocol in its peer-to-peer distribution of files, unlike traditional bittorrent programs it does not rely on tracker files downloaded from websites. Instead, search results for downloadable material are gathered directly from other users. (See?Wikipedia for a more detailed explanation.) ?There may be no simple way for the government or any other entity to ?pull the plug? ? shutting down any one Tribler user will deprive other Tribler users of that user?s bandwidth but will not destroy the network.

If Tribler does become widely used ? and in the process becomes the new go-to for downloading copyrighted music and videos ? there will be ramifications in the controversial war against online copyright infringement.

Paradoxically, Tribler could be a great boon to the so-called ?copyright trolls? ? copyright holders who obtain the IP addresses of individual downloaders, subpoena their identities from their ISPs, and threaten them with litigation unless they agree to a settlement.

Without central hubs like websites or torrent communities to target, the copyright holders may get added sympathy from judges and more tolerance for their massive lawsuits that have thus far met with resistance and even sanctions. In effect, the copyright holders will be able to make a more plausible argument than they could before that there are no other ways for them to protect their copyrights. (While there is some credence to the idea that it will be harder for governments to shut down Tribler, it will be no harder for plaintiffs to track the IP addresses of individual downloaders.)

Large copyright interests, moreover, might decide that the government is powerless to interfere with Tribler-aided downloads. SOPA and PIPA, for instance, would probably have no effect on Tribler: there are no websites to shut down. ?In a post-Tribler world, copyright holders might find it more profitable to spend their money on self-help remedies like private litigation rather than on lobbying the government for new legislation or increased enforcement.

Gujarat is the seventh largest state in the country in terms of area. Gandhinagar is the capital city of Gujarat, and Gujarati is the official language of this state. Gujarat has always been economic powerhouse for India.

Where is Gujarat

Gujarat is a coastal state in the western part of India. Gujarat shares international borders with the Sindh district of Pakistan to the west. It is surrounded by Rajasthan on the north, Madhya Pradesh on the east and Maharashtra on the south. Gujarat has a 1600-km-long coastline, adjoining the Arabian Sea, the longest for any state in India.

Major Cities

Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot are some of the most important cities in Gujarat. Gandhinagar is the capital city of Gujarat, and Ahmedabad is the largest city in the state.

Surat, the commercial capital of Gujarat, is also one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Vadodara is the industrial hub in Gujarat. Rajkot, the fourth largest city in Gujarat, is predominantly a city that thrives on Jewelry making. ESPN falls to third in online sports site rankings (Reuters) | Space ...

LOS ANGELES, Feb 8 (TheWrap.com) ? Yahoo Sports remained the most popular U.S. online sports site in January, but the most eye-catching news was ESPN.com falling to third place behind FoxSports.com.

Yahoo Sports had nearly 55 million unique visitors last month, topping FoxSports with roughly 38.6 million and ESPN with 38.2. million, according to ComScore.

It?s the first time in more than four years that ESPN has fallen out of the top two. The drop, according to Sports Business Daily, can be attributed to the sports titan?s shedding of traffic from Active.com, which racked up 5.8 million unique visitors in January. In its place, ESPN has focused on its regional sites in Los Angeles, New York, Boston, Dallas and Chicago and its new niche site Grantland.

Fox Sports received a major boost from its Yardbarker blog network, which posted 21.4 million unique users during January, nearly as many as the 21.9 million generated by FoxSports.com itself.

While building for the future, ESPN can solace itself with the knowledge that it retains its big lead in time spent among sports sites. ESPN held a 32.1 percent share of the online sports audience compared to runner-up Yahoo?s 19.9 percent last month.
