Your license will last for a specified period, after which time you will need to obtain a new license. You may need to complete further training before you will be granted a new license. Depending upon the requirements of the state in which you are licensed and where you are working, you will become eligible to sit an examination and become a broker yourself, after gaining between two and five years of experience as a real estate agent.
